How to Enter
Your Own Clock Rings

By Andrew Kearney, Branch 725

The time clock will prompt you for most things but it is really easy once you know what to do.

If you are working in the office casing on another route enter MV & 722. Then enter the five digit code assigned to that route. That will be the last 2 digits of your zip code followed by the route number using 3 digits. Example: If you are casing on route one MV - 722 - XX001. Then swipe your card. When you finish casing on this route and move back to your route or another one make the same entries.

If you come back to the office and want to make your moves for a extra piece you had to do on another route you need to enter MV & 721 and the route you worked on. Again using five digits beginning with the last two numbers of your zip code with the last three digits representing the route. Then enter the time you started the piece - in Postal Time. Swipe your card. Then enter MV & 721 and move to back to your route using the five digits with the last three representing your own route.

If you case on multiple routes or carry on more then one just follow the above instructions. Just make the additional entries. You do not have to do them at the time you are actually working it. They can be done when you are done everything and have returned to office. The times must be entered by you to ensure you are credited for the times on your own route. If you allow Management to just assign what time they think you should have taken to do work on another route you are possibly understating what it took to do your own route. That will make it harder to justify your actual times when the route adjustments come.
