New And Improved
General Meetings

By Eric K. Jackson, Branch 725

I don't know if you noticed lately but the general meetings for Branch 725 have been quite entertaining as well as more informative lately.

Let me see, last meeting starred a presentation by AFLAC (they gave away little duck that said the infamous "AFLAC" when touched..... as well as invaluable information on their products and services), retirement watches to two great letter carriers (Buzz Taylor from Linwood and Ed Haney from Prospect Park) and a plaque to President Emeritus Don Coughlin for all he's done for us.

The meeting before last featured Brian Lentz(D), the NALC endorsed candidate for Congress in Pennsylvania(Many thanks go out to Congressional District Liason(CDL) Bob Zigmont for scheduling and logistics). Also, in that meeting we got to hear from our friend "the official travel agent of branch 725", Nancy Borky. Since becoming our travel agent she has grown so much that she took the "leap" and went out on her own as a company. Her information was invaluable to all who plan to attend the National Convention as well as any other travel needs you may incur. Her home office phone number is 610-543-2897 and her new company is Borky Travel Services, Inc.

The meeting before that featured the Regional Administative Assistant Ray McDonald. How often do you get the chance to ask direct questions to the office of the National Business Agent? He was affable, entertaining and very, very informative.

So, does the President Jim McCullough roll out of his bed on the day of the general meeting and just go to the meeting? Hell to the no! As one of the many duties that he does, he coordinates the whole operation. The office is scheduled well in advance, the dinner has to be set up, and the bills all have to be paid. The creativity and leadership of the President is offered up for the branch to see when the "light go on".

So, if you have not attended a Branch 725 General meeting lately, you better get there. They probalbly will have to sell tickets soon because the space has been kind of tight(of course not).

There are many rumors every month as to who will be scheduled to the next meeting( Eddie Murphy, Chris Rock, Hilary Clinton.....you never know with this Executive Board)

Get your tickets now.....Oh, I mean just show up and enjoy an informative evening where you might just have a great time!
