Carrier Formally Known as Zigmont

By Eric K. Jackson, Branch 725

Have you seen this picture before? Of course, it's on the back of the July 2009 Postal record. Who is it, you ask? Why it's Bob Zigmont. On his off time he is a letter carrier in Prospect Park, Pa. He is also a Branch 725 Trustee and a Congressional District liason for Region 12. But his real job is as a model for various magazines.

This picture finds him posing as a letter carrier during the 2009 Letter carrier Food drive. Notice how he handles the bags. It's almost as if he actually "collected" the food. Fortunately, thanks to letter carrier Andrew Kearney from the Folsom post office, who went around on his day off to take pictures of carriers during the food drive, Bob Zigmont's picture was one of many submitted to the national office.

But brothers and sisters, let's face it, did anyone else actually have a chance considering his charm, grace, and modeling experience. So, when I got a response from National asking me for his full name, I kinda suspected that Bob's legend had preceded him. How unfair to all us average looking and under talented carriers!

They say Karma can be a B%%$%$! I guess so. So when I opened my mail box on June 2, 2009 and found the current Postal Record Magazine with pictures from the Food Drive I got excited. Would this be it finally? Yes, yes, yes. The picture of Bob placed nicely on the back cover. So excited, I texted Vice President Rhonda Massari to tell her of the good news. She returned in her text "You mean Bob Zigmon. Can you believe they changed his name? LoL. He finally hits the big time and .....Lol". To which I respond " Damn, damn, damn! (a vague reference to Florida Evans, the mother on the 70's television show Good times). So what becomes of this Zigmon thing? Is it one of his many aliases from his secret life as an adult movie actor, his exotic modeling carreer or just one of his shallow attempts to gain membership into the distinguished Menta society? While most of the former is not true. We love Bob for all he does for our branch and his family. One thing that is true, and that is Bob is now "the man formally known as Bob Zigmont". He will now be known to many people across this great nation of ours as "Bob Zigmon". Besides, rumor has it that the last "t" on his name was weighing him down anyway. Yeah, that's the ticket. Bob planned this all along just to change his name. What a Fu$%#*r!
