NALC national President Fred Rolando laid out the issues affecting letter carriers as he spoke to Pennsylvania members during the 2010 rap session held in Washington D.C. as a prelude to the 2010 Pennsylvania Congressional Breakfast.

With over a hundred in attendance, he spoke predominately about the JRAP. It is the joint route adjustment process which is the latest incarnation of route adjustment for letter carriers in the United States of America. With many improvements over the MIARAP, this round comes after the input and concerns of letter carriers, the local and district union officials, and input of all who attended the latest Committee Of Presidents in Arizona. The results are posted on the national website(www.nalc.org).

In answering questions from the audience he covered everything including healthcare. However, 6-day delivery was tabled for the breakfast the following morning.

As the days continue to role by, please understand one thing. There is a plan. And The NALC will not relent in it’s goal to enrich our experience as letter carriers. It’s a tough road ahead but we certainly are built that way as letter carriers.
