Training At 2010 Region 12 Rap Session (All Hail The Shop Stewards)

Many people always wonder "how does that Shop Steward know so much"? Many people often don't care about the toughest task in any union -- the Shop Steward. Well, the key to being a good Shop Steward or good anything is not necessarily how smart you are, but how well trained you are. Or how hard you work at training. If you talk to any union official you will know how hard they have worked to get the information necessary to help you. Firstly, all of them have worked their butts off to get the information. And secondly, they will never know everything (this is a reference business). But they know where to get the information or who to call. The moral of this article is all your Shop Stewards work very hard to continue to work FOR YOU!

Below is a list of classes offered at the 2010 Region 12 Rap Session

  • General Session 9:00 A.M. - 12 Noon
  • National Reassesment Process (NRP), OWCP Basic Information 1:00 P.M. - 4:30 P.M.
  • Contractual Grievance Remedies, FMLA Updated 1:00 P.M. - 4:30 P.M.
  • Legislation, Election 2010, Carrier Corps, COLCPE 1:00 P.M. - 4:30 P.M.
  • Stewards Training 1:00 P.M. - 4:30 P.M.
  • On tuesday, 2-23-2010 all classes were repeted so Stewards can go to more than one class.


    • If those classes sound like something that you would like to attend get invloved at your local office through general meetings. The reality is your Shop Stweards work their butts off getting this detailed information to you at the expense of their families and own well being usually.
