Branch 725 Member
Chosen For Postal Record Cover
By Eric K. Jackson, Branch 725
June 9, 2010
HOLMES, PA. - Amonst the many pictures shuffled in the form of a heart on the cover of the June, 2010 NALC Postal Record is one taken from one of our own members. If you look to the middle left you will see a picture of Daniel Broderick, former Alternate Shop Steward out of the Bala Cynwyd Post Office.
Dan's picture is one of thousands sent in from all over the country as members show evidence of their hard work in supporting the NALC annual Food Drive. Dan has become famous as a result of this "honor". Of course letter carriers make fun of his picture daily as only we can do it. It appears that this is what letter carriers do all over the country. I guess it's how we deal with the everyday stress of what we do. So, to Dan Broderick congrats!
Coincidentally, Mr. Broderick was not the only member from Branch 725 featured in the June Postal Record. Most of the members who attended the Congressional Breakfast was a part of a video shot during the breakfast. I don't have the final word on how it will be seen. Also, a group picture was taken and our members are in clear view thanks to the best seats our branch has ever had. this is all due to Branch President Jim McCullough who, as a part of the seating committee, secured our tables right in front of the Dais. Thanks Jimmy!
This Postal Record is not the only occurance of our Branch's exploits into the national NALC "spotlight". Previously, President Emeritous Don Coughlin, Rhonda and Dan Massari, and Andy and Barbara Kearney were featured in the NALC Health Benefits Plan video. Our own Bob Zigmont has been featured in the Food Drive issue of the Postal Record prominently, and on the Postal Bulletin pictured at the Branch's annual Bowl-For-The-Cure which benefits muscular dystrophy. Mr. Zigmont is truely our biggest star. Word is he has 800,000 friends on Facebook and 180,000 followers on Twitter. You go "Big Time Bob" (as he prefers to be called in his office).
So, next time you get your Postal Record, or look at your office Bulletin, don't be surprised to see one of our own.
